Five months ago I left Queens Village and Incarnation to
begin my sabbatical experience and in a week I shall be home again. Tremendous graces and blessings I have
enjoyed these past months. They have
been varied and rich: Solesmes, Lourdes,
the Camino, Travels. Even more memorable
have been the people I've encountered along the way. Their goodness and kindness, as their
openness to let me enter their lives, their homes, their worlds, can have a
renewing aspect as to the goodness of God’s creation.
As my time winds down I still have to visit Breukelen in the
Netherlands and Chartres, France with it’s majestic cathedral. Breukelen is of course the namesake of the
place where I was born. Charters Cathedral
reminds me of the desire to reach for the heavens and to long for God by
offering Him the Perfect Sacrifice and serving Him in His People.
I am very ready to return and continue my ministry in the Diocese of Brooklyn with God's People.
So as the homestretch begins I am indeed stretching for home.
